I’ve just launched The Good South, an online travel guide to the lower South Island.

The guide includes The Great Scone Trail, the first-ever  list of high-quality tearooms and cafes in rural south island New Zealand to be included in itineraries for the independent traveller.

Other recent work has been as a SEO copywriter for the global travel search engine, Skyscanner, writing landing pages and travel features.

I originally trained and worked as a journalist and over the years I’ve also been published on freelance projects ranging from farming to freeskiing.

My work has appeared in the Traveller section of the Sydney Morning Herald with other articles in North and South magazine’s Four Corners section and Air New Zealand’s inflight publication, Kia Ora.

Mainly focussed on digital copy-writing for websites, I create search engine optimisation strategies to enable sites to be more easily found by Google.

I’ve written digital content for a number of projects ranging from tourism and manufacturing to e-commerce as well as managing website makeovers and start-up projects.

As well as SEO training I’m certified in professional and technical writing and written and edited corporate documentation for websites, business documents, proposals, sales campaigns and educational use.

Along with sole consultancy work, my collaborative projects can involve digital marketing specialists, web build and design experts, such as Wekaweb, Optimyse and the award-winning photography skills of Wanaka photographer Simon Darby.
